Holy: Vera is able to use holy magic to heal others.
Divine Law: as the 12th Lady, Vera is able to use her magic to cast judgment onto others. It will bless those who are virtuous and punish those who have committed atrocious acts.
Her staff is shaped like a judgment scale, and ebbs and flows as she conducts magic through it.

Generally prefers to be called Vera, but responds to Lilia as well.
As the lady of the 12th Gate, her title is Lady Lilia, but is also known as "the resident glutton" by Ren.
She has an orange persian cat named Pumpkin. It's quite independent from Vera and prefers to roam the 12th Gate.
She loves to eat! Her favourite snack is a strawberries with chocolate hazelnut spread on a toasted baguette.

History
Childhood
Liliavera no longer remembers most of her earlier years. Her earliest memories are with Ren, a Witch who became her impromptu guardian.Ren claims to have found her alone when he was younger and living in the forest; he spent some time raising her alone but eventually worried that he would not be a good influence on her and that keeping her from social interaction would have adverse effects on her. He brought her to Tarin and enrolled her into a women's school there, not realizing at the time the school belonged to Tarin's 12th Gate.

Adulthood & Now
Vera spent the rest of her childhood years at the 12th Church studying and practicing magic. She eventually ascended and took the title of the Lady of the 12th Church, a position which had remained uninhabited due to the passing of the previous Lady years before. Alongside her knight, Sir. Delancey, Vera vows to oversee the land with justice and make amends for those who were wronged by the Church in history.

Trivia
Ren taught her all her basic skills as a child: how to read, how to wield magic... He even corrected a mild speech impediment she had as she learned to talk.
After Ren dropped her off at Tarin's 12th Gate, he very rarely visited her due to his hostility towards Tarin's history of Witch persecution. As the two grew, Ren would more and more frequently visit but Vera still teases him about his "bad parenting" sometimes.

Vera is a tall, slender young woman standing at 5 foot 7 inches. With her shoes, she stands at 5 feet, 10 inches tall. She has rosy skin and always has a bright smile.Vera has purple eyes and black hair that catches light. She keeps her hair pulled up in a half-up, half-down ponytail. In her hair, she wears one (or more) of Ren's lilies.She wears a white and gold leotard, thigh-high tights, heels, and a cape. Her cape is imbued with magical properties that keeps her warm. She hates the cold.

Treasures
Lily: Vera's three "immortal" lilies. This lily is connected to Ren's lifeforce and will continue to live so long as he himself does.
Magical Cape: white with a purple-ish, iridescent gemstone. This cape will always keep the wearer’s body temperature homeostatic regardless of the weather. It should be taken to the magical items laundromat regularly.
Judgment Staff: the scales on the staff will ebb and flow depending on the form of magic she is beckoning.

As Ren raised Vera, the two have a very close relationship. She often confides in him in her troubles and enjoys the comfort his hugs and words of reassurance provide.
Sir. Lucien A. Delancey
Her most trusted knight. At first, she didn't like the idea of being a damsel in distress that had to be protected. but now she appreciates the protection and confidance that he provides. She has a playful relationship with him and likes to tease him.
Vera and Lucien are bound by the Knight's Oath where Lucien is bound to serve only her for as long as they live.Fun fact! Vera thinks Lucien's writing is dreamy, so she asks him to write her letters for her birthday.
Reverend Ambrose
Minor character.Reverend Ambrose is the advisor of Liliavera. He assists with day to day activities of the church and helps her with her magical studies. Vera appreciates him a lot and often tries to encourage him to stop overworking himself.Rumor has it, he's scared of bunnies..?

Tarin's History
Welcome to Tarin, the land of the 12 Heavenly Gates.Once upon a time, Tarin was a vibrant country bustling with magic. When a greedy monarch ordered the destruction of magical relics, hundreds of years of progress were lost and the era of Witch persecution began. Magic was nearly eradicated when a sanction of 12 women revealed their lives' work: hiding away magical artifacts and books. Tarin's monarchy was finally overthrown and magic restored.The 12 women were revered as saints and 12 Gates, architecturally similar to churches, were erected to honor their accomplishments. Centuries later, the Gates represent the values of Tarin and the title of Lady of the Gate is passed down to continue honoring and protecting the magic of Tarin.

Tarin's Magic
"Creativity without limitation is chaos."All living things have mana, or magic. Humans only have a limited amount of magic and can't harness it directly unless channeling it through a magical item like a stave. Because magic can be whatever the user perceives it to be, magical items are crafted with limitations in place to abuse the use of power.For magic to be considered legal in Tarin, it must be crafted by a licensed artificer or enchanter and must not exceed a certain amount of power. Only a few individuals, like Ladies of the Gate, are allowed to wield magical items that channel higher levels of magic.

Dark Magic
Illegal magic is also known as "dark magic". Dark magic does not have to be evil to be considered dark magic. A few forms of magic are strictly outlawed, such as necromancy.Because Witches innately have high levels of mana, they don't need to use magical items to channel their magic and are able to bypass the artificial limitations humans set in place. Witches are considered to practice "dark magic" for this reason; most Witches consider this term to be racist.
